Clare Anna Whitehead
6 months to 9 months

Clare is now 9 months old. She is still a very happy and placid baby. She is rolling everywhere now and I think she will be crawling soon as she's started getting up on all fours and rocking backwards and forwards! She just loves her big sister Laura and showers her with smiles whenever she is in the room. She started out quite shy, and is still shy at times, but she is getting used to other people and, if she likes them, showers them with smiles as well. She is saying, 'Mum', 'Dad' and 'Bub' and also talking in her own little 'baby talk' language.

At 6 months old she weighed 7265 grams (16 lbs) and was 66cm long.
At 8 months old she weighed 8000g (17lb 10oz) and was 68.5 cm long.

She had her 3rd immunisation done on the 14th of December 2001 and was very good.

Clare is eating 3 meals a day now, as well as still having 4 bottles of formula. She seems to like most foods, although she's not particularly keen on fruits as yet.

And.......Clare has some curls now!! Yes some very definite, cute curls. They are especially noticeable after her bath, but flatten down quite a bit once she's laid on them for a while. I also think her hair is turning more auburn in colour now... just like her daddy's used to be

Clare is still having problems with a blocked tear duct and had a nasty infection in her eye after Christmas which lasted more than a week. It still weeps but doesn't seem to bother her too much.

We've been putting Clare in the walker a bit and she loves it. She's already worked out how to maneuver it around and scoots across the loungeroom at quite a speed.

Clare's first tooth came through at 8 months and 3 weeks old. Sister Laura better think twice before she sticks her fingers in there now!!!!!

Clare's first Christmas was spent with family. (Actually she very nearly slept the day away.) Santa bought for her some soft blocks, a giraffe rattle, a framed personalised poem, some little bookies and a scooter bug.
Grandpa and Nana Marg bought a soft toy - a pink pig. From Aunty Lee and cousins Damien and Elley she got an Eeyore rattle. Nan and Pa bought her some clothes. She got more clothes from other family members and Aunty Lyn and Uncle Tommy bought her a bowl, cup and placemat.
Grandma and Pop-a-Don bought her a Blues Clues foam couch...see

Her second tooth came through when she was 9 months old and she has a top tooth that is threatening to come through as well, but it keeps disappearing again. She is now crawling and getting faster all the time and is finally sitting up on her own - although she's still a little wobbly at times.
