To Rachelle, With Love

When I heard the news that my baby girl had died,
My world around me collapsed; I just laid on the floor and cried.

The pain I felt could not be measured by thermometer or scale;
My stomach was all tied in knots and my face had grown so pale.

Why did my angel baby get taken from my arms?
All she brought was joy to us, she did no one any harm.

We stuck with her through thick and thin, we prayed for her every night.
We didn't want to let go of her, we tried to hold on tight.

But I guess after 16 months, our arms began to grow weak.
So, God came down and lifted her to a place where angels speak.

So please, dear Lord, take care of her till we can be together again.
Till then, dear Lord, give our angel her wings and help our hearts to mend.

All God's children

When a child is born not quite healthy
We believe God has his reasons.
These children are as all His flowers,
They grow and have their seasons.

They have their good days and their bad
And we pray there is no pain,
But, as in nature, along with the sunshine
must be a little rain.

God in His wisdom has given us
these children. He is wise.
For though there's pain and suffering
when one of our children dies,
There's also great love and memories
that will never fade away
And the knowledge that, though gone tomorrow,
we still have today.

And when God takes his children home
to Heaven, be not sad
For our precious children are at peace
and for that, at least, be glad.

Although we cannot hold them now,
can no longer make a fuss,
We now have a precious angel in Heaven
smiling down on us.

Love me enough to let go

Your hearts are breaking-I know: I can tell
Because you're my parents and I know you so well
As hard as this is, there's something I need to say
I don't want to linger, don't beg me to stay
Keeping me here only gets in my way
Prevents me from being where I want to be

Out of this body and finally pain free
Living with God is my ultimate goal
By taking me home He is making me whole
The only thing holding me back, Mom and Dad,
Is thinking of you and the good times we had.
You fought for me when no one else could,
Refused to give up when others told you you should
You packed a whole lifetime of love in (two) years
Gave me strength to handle all of my fears
Showered me with courage-you said-"It's a loan"
While secretly hiding tears of your own
You've done everything I needed-I couldn't ask for much more
Please love me enough-to help me pass through that door
I know you are sad-and it doesn't seem fair
But the time has come to put me in God's care
Since I started the job I was sent here to do
And planted a seed now residing in you
I'm sure I can trust you to carry my load
Please love me enough- enough to let go

I will see you through

I know it was not easy, for you to let her go,
but love like yours would not hold back, your love to suffer so.
And so I took her quickly, so she would never now,
a lengthy time of darkness, that would distress her so.
I left her body here awhile, so you could have some time,
to be prepared to let her go, she was already Mine.
I bid her come while happy, with joyous plans ahead,
and laughter in her face and heart, and not one thought of dread.
You have the most to suffer, your loneliness to bear,
but know that she is safe with Me, within My loving care.
And never doubt My love for you, I know you wonder why,
just know My strength will be your joy, My love will never die.
I bore my son's own suffering, and I will bear yours too,
give me your doubts and pain and hurt and I will see you through.

God's garden

God looked around His garden
and saw an empty space.
He looked down from Heaven
and saw your smiling face.

He put His arms around you
and whispered come to rest.
His garden must be beautiful,
He picks only the very best.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone,
A part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.

Our thoughts are always with you,
a million times we've cried,
And if our love could have saved you,
You never would have died.

For my Child

Lord so loving, with arms open wide
Welcome home this baby,
Keep her close by your side.
Dress her in clothes,
Rainbow bright,
And let her play in your glorious light.

In your mansion so big,
And Heavens so vast,
May she freely roam, where no shadows are cast.
In your presence, may she always live,
In your wisdom let her grow,

Earthly pains and sorrow she never more will know.

We thank thee Lord for this child so precious,
And that you chose to send her to us.
You knew her stay would be so short,
And so you gave her to the parents who would love her most.
And to your word be true,
Bless her grieving parents,
Lord that they may understand,
Why she had to return to you and leave this earthly land.

In you is their hope and to you they pray,
They need your strength each passing day,
So love them and hold them in your almighty arms,
And protect their spirits from further harm.
Grant them peace, comfort and love,
Knowing their child is with you above,
For though an empty void she has left,
Help us to persevere til we are reunited with those we love so dear.

When we ask why?

God's purpose and plans, sometimes concealed,
But someday his purpose will be revealed.

Someday god's wisdom will make it very plain,
Why problems were permitted and how he uses his pain.

Things thought illogical, disease, tragedy and fear,
Will someday make sense, when God makes all things clear.

We'll see the Lord's purpose from the Lord's point of view,
And we'll know the answer, in way we never knew.

Until we are home with God, some answers must wait,
Until His plan unfolds, we'll live and walk by faith.

Do not stand at my Grave

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep,
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the Sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle Autumn rain,
I am the shining star at night,
When you awake to the morning light,

My Time has come, I am at rest,
I am the sunset in the West,
I am the clouds that race above,
Where I watch over those I love,

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I do not die,
So hear these words that here I say,
I am the LOVE that guides your way.

Little things

Too often we don't realize
what we have until it's gone;
Too often we wait too long to say
"I'm sorry - I was wrong."

Sometimes it seems
we hurt the ones
we hold dearest to our hearts;
And we allow silly foolish things
to tear our lives apart.

Far too many times we let
unimportant things into our minds;
And then it's usually too late
to see what made us blind.

So be sure you let people know
how much they mean to you;
Take that time to say the words
before your time is through.

Be sure that you appreciate
everything you've got...
And be thankful for the little things
in life that mean a lot.

Little Miracles

I have a little miracle,
that I would like to share.
God has sent me an angel,
That I handle with great care.

She came too soon, she came too small.
Who would help her through it all?
I know that it is you, Lord,
You would never let us fall.

They tell me she will not walk, Lord.
Will you carry her?
They say she will not talk, Lord.
Will you speak for her?

Why do things happen,
to cause such pain?
Suffering and sorrow,

Please God, pull us from the rain.

We need a ray of sunshine,
to see the day through.
We need a bit of faith, Lord.
Can we count on you?

Please give me strength.
Please give me hope.
Let us know we’re not alone.

Please let me see her future,
Is filled with hopes and dreams,
Little pink bows and carousels,
It’s brighter than it seems.

You handed me a miracle,
For this I know is true.

I look into her eyes, Lord.
Dark skies turn into blue.

I see that ray of sunshine,
I feel that you are there.
I know that it is with your love,
You lift us up with care.

Thank you for my miracle,
And all that you have done.
To give me strength, to give your love,
To show us your bright sun.

My ray of sunshine has come through,
As I hold her in my arms.
My faith has grown but stronger, Lord.
As I cherish her great charms.

You have handed me a miracle,
A tiny little miracle.

What we share

When we share laughter,
There's twice the fun;
When we share success,
We've surpassed what we've done.

When we share problems,
There's half the pain;
When we share tears,
A rainbow follows rain.

When we share dreams,
They become more real;
When we share secrets,
It's our hearts we reveal.

If we share a smile,
That's when our love shows;
If we share a hug,
That's when our love grows.

If we share with someone
On whom we depend,
That person is always
Family or friend.

And what draws us closer
And makes us all care,
Is not what we have,
But the things that we share.

I am still her mother

In a baby castle, just beyond my eye
My baby plays with Angel toys that money cannot buy.
Who am I to wish her back into this world of strife ?
No, play on my baby, you have eternal life.
At night when all is silent and sleep forsakes my eyes,
I'll hear her tiny footsteps come running to my side.
Her little hands caress me so tenderly and sweet,
I'll breathe a prayer and close my eyes and embrace her in my sleep
Now I have a treasure I rate above all other,
I have known true glory - I am still her mother

FATHERS ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE

Fathers are wonderful people
Too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should...

For, somehow, Father seems to be
The man who pays the bills,

While Mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our ills...

And Father struggles daily
To live up to "HIS IMAGE"
As protector and provider
And "hero or the scrimmage"...

And perhaps that is the reason
We sometimes get the notion,
That Fathers are not subject
To the thing we call emotion,

But if you look inside Dad's heart,
Where no one else can see
You'll find he's sentimental
And as "soft" as he can be...

But he's so busy every day
In the grueling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his partner and his wife...

But Fathers are just WONDERFUL
In a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
And accolade of praise,

For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
And to bring them happiness...

And like OUR HEAVENLY FATHER,
He's a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
To be ALWAYS ON OUR SIDE.
